Hi Everyone! Well, what a year it has been for Tickled Skink! In the summer we introduced a brand new session..."Amazon Jungle"...with a whole host of new cuddly props from the jungle, a magnetic fishing song, a throw and catch activity song with bean bag tadpoles and an energising dance with colourful floaty scarves to illustrate (in a fun way) the various ways seeds are distributed. The kids had a great time..and so did their parents! "Cakehouse cakes" joined us to provide amazing themed refreshments for all. Thankyou Cakehouse Cakes! Leading up to Christmas, Lutterworth enjoyed a 10 week "Tickled Skink on Tour" experience, where children aged 2yrs to 7yrs got to experience 10 different world habitats through the joy of music, movement and many exciting props including cuddly toys, puppets, instruments, hobby horses, knitted fruit and veg, toy landscapes, rainbow sticks and much much more. Ontop of this, they got to learn about and handle a different live exotic animal each week, related to the habitat we had been singing about. The animals were very popular with the children (and their parents). Check out the photos sent to me by Natalie (one of our Lutterworth parents) on our "Tickled Skink On Tour" page. Fantastic! The course of sessions ended with our "Christmas Special" and each child received a christmas gift and a special "Tickled Skink Certificate Of Bravery" for their animal handling skills! The certificate included photos of all the animals they had handled during the 10 week course. Many nurseries and schools booked Tickled Skink for their Christmas parties this year. The kids all had a fab time decorating the christmas tree during a song about snow, snowballs, icicles and presents falling on a pine tree. Lots of fun was had with stockings, bells and traditional christmas songs and then, of course, children got the chance to learn about and handle two of our very special exotic pets. I had a lovely time and met some amazing people! Here's hoping 2012 is just as good...if not even better! |
